Great Oak CA senior Tori Gaitan placed 18th in the 5-kilometer girls Nike Race of Champions in 18:08.6 at the Great American Cross Country Festival at WakeMed Park in Cary, N.C. Gaitan helped the Wolfpack prevail by a 71-125 margin over Loudoun Valley VA and become the first California girls team in the meet's 20-year history to win the Race of Champions, in addition to Great Oak joining Saratoga Springs NY in 2005 as the only programs to sweep the boys and girls Race of Champions titles in the same year.
